cymbidium orchid wedding bouquets
advise on wedding bouquets?
I would like to do a bridal bouquet of 10 mini calla lilies, 10-15 white cymbidium orchids, a few blue irises to accent, and some bear grass. Does this sound like it will go well together. Anyone have personal experience working with any of these flowers in particular?
For my BM bouquets, I want to do 2 white hydrangea stems with either forget-me-not accents, or something called cupid's dart, it is like a blue daisy. The girl's bouquets will be in large nautilus shells. Does this sound crazy?
Your bridal bouquet sounds fabulous. Bear grass will compliment those flowers beautifully. Orchids are really waxy and Iris are really fragile, so that creates beautiful contrast.
As for the BM bouquets, my concern is how those very reedy-stemmed flowers will fit inside the shell. Hydrangea, forget me nots, and daisies all have such stalk-like stems, will they bend gently enough to let them be secure in the shell? The colors and soft femininity of the blooms themselves are a smart choice for the harsh masculinity of the nautilus.
Will they just walk with the shell cupped in their hands? And will they be expected to hold onto this shell for the whole ceremony? (I'm just thinking by the time 30 minutes is gone by, that big shell's gonna start to get tiresome...) I get your vision for it...I just wonder about the execution.
