Using orchid wedding bouquets and Wedding Flowers
Orchids have been used for over 100 years and are still being used today in weddings for bride bouquets, bridesmaids' bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, and table center pieces. I have been to several weddings where the centerpieces were actually potted orchids and were given away as prizes at the reception afterward.
Orchid wedding bouquets are in a class by themselves. They are both exotic and beautiful. They represent beauty in general. Orchids can easily be designed to create cascaded, small and round, and tear dropped orchid wedding bouquets.
Most people think of orchids as to fragile to be used for wedding bouquets, however there are many orchids that work quiet well. Made from the right orchids an orchid wedding bouquet will last through the entire event from photographs to wedding to the reception. Some might think that orchids would not be available for a winter wedding as well, but this is also a myth several orchids are available year round.
With 30 some thousand species and over 100 thousand hybrids, there are many orchids to choose from which come in different sizes, shapes, colors and with different fragrances that you can make a orchid wedding bouquet from. You can match almost in color imaginable. You can also mix other flowers in the orchid wedding bouquet such as roses. Orchids and roses complement each other quite well.
Weddings designed using traditions, superstitions, and symbolism and orchids are symbolic of perfection. Pink orchids symbolize deep and pure affection. Many brides and wedding planners use these meanings when picking colors and flowers for weddings to help add meaning to the wedding.
Two popular orchids used in orchid wedding bouquets are green cymbidium orchids and Vanda orchids. There is also a variety of other cymbidium, dendrobium, and phalenospsis orchids that are used.
An experienced wedding planner or a skilled florist will be able to help you choose the best orchids to match color and meaning for your orchid wedding bouquet. A florist will need a photo of the wedding dress and they will need to know if it will be a formal or informal wedding or some other theme.
Many think that using orchids for weddings and orchid wedding bouquets can be costly, but nowadays they are very reasonable considering their beauty and endurance as long as you stay away from exotic orchid types. Because for weddings you often buy orchids in bulk growers give discounts and if they are being shipped there will also be a volume discount.
