orchid roots shriveled
Orchid Care?
I have several different types of orchids. I love them and would love to become a better caretaker for them. There are very few places I can put them in my home because of the furniture arrangement. I also have an older craftsman that we are in the middle of restoring and unfortunately it will be some time before I get the A/C unit done. I have purchased a window A/C to keep the front portion of the house cool. So because I live in Fresno where the temperatures are often above 100 degrees, I have to keep them out of the back portion of my home. That knocks out the West and North windows that provide the most light. Also, it tends to be cooler during the day since I have the unit running and gets warmer at night. I know it is supposed to be the other way around.
So, I have a couple of things working against me. I have had problems with orchids leaves turning yellow and falling off, roots shriveling and no re-flowering.
Someone who is more successful, please help!
I do not own any orchids but I understand they are not big light lovers. Someone once told me that orchids love to live in bathrooms.
